This is what I have been doing, dyeing lots of fun colors, I have even tried a few stripes.... I like them but I doubt I would ever use them in one of my quilts. I would make more but what to do with them?

I am cleaning my studio to clear my head, I am waiting for my next quilt to make its way in there. What to do with all this? I cant bear to throw it away, its all my hand dye and its so pretty! I guess Ill put it in a bag and save it for later.

I am feeling very frustrated about not being able to post any new quilts Ive been working on, I am entering 5 quilts in 3 different shows and they are pretty strict about not having them seen anywhere!

I am now dying yards and yards of fabric to get my inventory back up, so far I have dyed 80 yds in the last week, Ill add pix of those. I just shipped 300 yds to Nancy Crows barn for 2 classes in the fall, it takes for ever to ship things from here!

I am going to get my body of work beefed up also as I am hoping to have a show next year! So I will post those photos.

Well here is a part of my big quilt that I want to enter in a show. I am very happy with the way the edges turned out! It was a pain but its done! I did the facing method where you cover the whole front sew it and cut out the inside, turn it and stitch!

I am working on another piece for a SAQA show, Ill show you a part of it later.

I just got my 500 meters of cotton from testfabrics!!!! That was a chore in its self with the shipping and customs.... but its here! I was down to my last 50 mts. I hope that I can find somewhere here that makes 100% cotton, but its not easy! Maybe Ill have to go back to India!
I have been starting to dye for my 2 weeks with Nancy Crow in Sept. I can see what colors I like to dye.... I need to round out my collection! I will see hoe much it costs to ship it other wise Ill have to pay for over weight luggage!!!

This is pretty much how we've been feeling of late! Its 99 degrees with 98 humidity! It does cool down to a lovely 80 at night!?

Its tough to work in my studio, I have no air con and I get the morning sun in there. I find myself getting up earlier and earlier so I can get some work done!

I have had to delete a few photos from my blog because they are of quilts I would like to enter in a couple of shows.
I got an email from one show that said if they google my name and the name of the quilt and it comes up then it will be disqualified!!!! So I guess I wont be posting some of my new works.... hummm, that's kind of a drag, I like sharing and getting every ones in put!

Test Two!

Here I added some fusing.... but to the wrong side so I guess I dont really need it, its too late to put on the front.

I clipped waaaaay into the inside corners and I think it does look better but I can see one little stitch right at the inside point, any way to get rid of that? I am ok with the outside corners or do you think they need to be pointier?

Thank you to everyone that has helped me!!!!! I will try to work on the real thing this week!!!! I am going to try the facing that Alison has on her blog....

This is a test

I am trying figure out the best way for me to finish off my gradations quilt, I want it done right so I am doing some practice runs. This is how it would look doing a facing, Im not happy with the inside corners and I am afraid to clip them any closer to the stitching.... this look is not making me happy.
This is how I finish all my quilts.... do you think I could do it on the gradations? I would have to make the triangles smaller and I might still have the same problem on the inside corners, I am at a loss. So many of you have given me such great advice but it is hard to understand when I cant see how something is done!!!
Please send all ideas!

I seem to have a pucker problem!? Can any one help? this quilt is 100% cotton except the batting is poly.... they dont have cotton batting here in Vietnam. It has been hanging up for a week and it is very humid here, it didnt look like this when I first hung it.... HELP!!!!
I dyed these all in one day!!! thanks to my washing machine, I am soooo happy!
Im not sure if you can see the quilting very well, I am quite happy with it, how ever.......
I thought I would try something different with the back..... please tell me that I should never di this again! I think I will stick to solid backing, I guess I was just trying too hard.

These are every where on doorways both inside and out. I bought one for me and will hang it over my dressing room door. They come in all sorts of colors and I just love them!

Today I started a new quilt! I had to dye the fabrics and now I'm very excited to see how it turns out! The base for my idea came from the paintings of the robes the Buddhas wore, the colors are rust and a golden, very similar to the monks robes that they wear now. Ill keep you posted!

Im back from Bhutan! I had the most amazing trip, full of color, food, textiles and fun! Here are just a few pictures of some of the weaving I saw...... truly magnificent! I came home with 12 kiras, what the women wear. Most of the ones I bought are all cotton a few cotton with silk, the all silk ones cost between 1500 / 2500 dollars!!!! They are worth every penny.

I will be adding more photos as the week goes on but I just wanted to put something new up for you to see!
